Cakes, cakes and more cakes. I love doing these, not so big on the actually baking and making icing but I love decorating them. My favourite ones to do are kids character cakes, They are always fun and I love to see my boys faces light up when I turn an ordinary cake into one of their favourite characters.
So those are only a couple of cakes I have done and will post more, but seeing as it is a really hot day and I only have a short attention span, I best leave it for another day.
Peace

My Tazzy Devil
My nieces birthday cake.
Once again I used an A4 picture of Tazzy and traced the outside for my template.
Cake made out of chocolate covered with Whit choc fondant. It took so long to get that brown colour lol.
I used rolled up fondant then molded it to get his face and arms and legs were molded out of fondant.
I loved this cake just as much as my Spongebob, It was just as easy as Spongebob.
Boys Baby Shower Cake
Terrible photos!!! :(
My sister in-laws baby shower cake.
Pretty simple, mud choc cake covered with almond marzipan then fondant.
Blocks, bears, and train plus the puffs of smoke for the train are all made out of fondant. Bears have been stuck on with tooth picks and royal icing to make sure they didn't move during transportation.
Halloween 2010
Jack Skellington, king of Halloweentown
Because I love Nightmare before Christmas I did Jack Skellington, king of Halloweentown cupcakes for both my sons Halloween Party.
Jack: Deadly chocolate cupcakes topped with Betty Crockers ready made icing (yes I cheated lol) just coloured. Marshmallow on a lollipop stick for the head, you can pick up lollipop sticks from a cake decorating supply shop. Painted the face on with a thin paint brush and black food colouring. Used fruit straps for the bow tie, just coloured and cut to look like bat wings and small dob of fondant for the bats head.
Pumpkins: Vanilla cupcakes coloured orange topped with icing. Coloured and rolled out fondant and cut circles out using a cookie cutter, once placed on top of cupcake I used a Dresden tool to form lines to look like a pumpkin and placed a dob of icing in the middle for it's stem, very easy!!!

Spongebob Squarepants
This was for my sons 5th birthday to share with his preschool ...I loved doing this cake.
Cake is made out of 2 layers, Choc and vanilla sandwiched with raspberry jam, covered with white choc fondant. To get the shape I printed an A4 picture of Sponge Bob and traced around it to make a template. Best thing to do when shaping a cake is to let it sit in the fridge for awhile so it doesn't crumble as much.
This was one of my easiest cakes I have made so far, plus I'm a big Spongebob fan lol!!!
Sesame Street Cake
This was my sons graduation cake from preschool to Prep.
Cookie monster and Elmo were made out of Rice Krispie treats covered in modeling chocolate ..... Yummm
To create the furry look, I just scrached at the modeling choc with an anger tool but a tooth pick can do the same thing.
Cake is made out of pound cake for the bottom layer and top layer is my version of a milo cake. To sandwich it together is chocolate ganache...... mmmmm yummy!!!! Covering it is white choc fondant. Coloured, twisted together and rolled out to make a tye dye effect.
Kids loved it!!!
